Awarded by Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia Duration: 3 years Full Time First launched at Raffles Design Institute, Singapore in July 2003, the Product Design programme has seen a rapid growth in student numbers. Greg Pritchard assumed his appointment as Program Director at Raffles Design Institute, Shanghai in October this year and came here after spending a term at Raffles Design Institute in Singapore. Prior to Singapore, Greg was the Program Director for Product Design, Furniture Design and Co-coordinator of Jewellery Design at Curtin University in Perth, Australia for a period of four years. Greg joined Curtin following 18 years industry experience in running his own design consultancy of 13 staff. His firm was awarded four Australian Design Awards. He holds a degree in Product Design, a Graduate Diploma in Education, and is close on completing his Masters of Education Course Overview Students will learn broad-based, problem-solving design skills through a project-based modular system which encourages the investigation and understanding of various areas specialization within product design. Students will be exposed to a wide range of specialization including: Electrical & Electronic Product Design, Furniture Design, Lighting Design, Jewellery Design, Transportation Design, Toy Design and Public Space Design. These areas of specialization are supported by a variety of technological, "hands-on" and theoretical modules aimed at supporting and enhancing their main areas of study.
