听力原文:M: Isn't it a relief to see people and lights, Turner? Now, let me see. Where are we exactly? According to my map, this must be Chagford.
W: You're right, Don. That sign says Chagford Town Hall. But there's a more interesting notice on the other side of the square. Do you see what it says? "Open for Devon Cream Teas".
M: Oh, yes, so it does. Oh, I must get a newspaper. There's a newsagent next door.
W: What for?
M: To find out what's been happening.
W: I don't need a newspaper. We must have been walking for at least six hours. My feet have been hurting for a- bout four hours and I've been starving since we shared that tin of cold beans.
M: You're hungry again? I see what you mean. That tea shop does look interesting. We could plan tomorrow's walk while we were having tea.
W: So toady we had complete Devon cream teas, with additional sandwiches and cakes, and another order of scones. I feel better. How about you?
M: A Devon cream tea is better than a tin of cold beans. In fact, it's better than almost anything... except a good newspaper. Do you ever buy a newspaper?
W: Not often. But I watch television.
M: Television! It only scratches the surface.
W: Television coverage is very dramatic.
M: Yes. You learn what happened but never why it happened.
W: Rubbish.
M: TV workers aren't in aren’t in a position to fill in the background.
W: They were there.
M: No, they only show you the bits.
M: Yes, of course. See to it, will you, Turner. I must get a newspaper before the newsagent closes.

听力原文:BRYSON: Well, Amina, thanks for letting me have your draft in such good time.
AMINA: Oh, that's alright. I was just very anxious to hear what you think of it. You can
see that I decided to change the topic - I had been interested in looking at
Barings Factory.
BRYSON: Oh, I think the hospital was a much better choice. In fact.., well... I have to 【Q21】
say that I thought it was good.
AMINA: Oh?
BRYSON: There's still lots of work to be done...
AMINA: Oh yes.., of course.
BRYSON: But there's plenty of good ideas. It opens well and the first chapter is fine but
the middle section really stood out for me... most interesting. 【Q22】
AMNA: That's amazing because I really didn't find it a bit easy to write... 【Q23】
BRYSON: How long did you work on the whole thing?
AMINA: Well, I spent about two or three weeks reading and doing general research and
then I dashed the writing off very quickly.., so about four weeks in all.
BRYSON: Well, that's about par for the course. You've got a while yet to make the changes.
AMINA: Oh right.., no problem...
BRYSON: Right. Let's have a look at my notes here. OK. Starting with section headings
…. the broad divisions are good but you'll have to re-do the actual headings. Example
I've made some suggestions in the margins...
AMINA: OK. Thanks.
BRYSON: Now, this information on local housing... I can see why you put it there but it 【Q24】
really isn't relevant to the approach you've taken.
AMINA: I think I see what you mean.
BRYSON: Now... what did I say about the interviews?
AMNA: I worked very hard on those. I really thought they were valuable.
BRYSON: They are, Amina, but they're very complex and rather unclear at the moment.
You're going to have to spend a bit of time making the data a lot clearer. 【Q25】
AMINA: OK... as long as I don't have to remove them altogether...
BRYSON: No, don't worry.
AMINA: What about the chronology.., the list of dates? I wasn't sure whether I should
rewrite those.
BRYSON: My advice on that is to take them out. I feel it makes the whole piece appear 【Q26】
too simplistic.
AMINA: OK, if it'll help.
..........................................................................................................................................................
BRSON: Now, there are a couple of other books I'd like you to look at. Have you got a
pen? Right... Approaches to Local History by John Mervis...
AMINA: Right...
BRYSON: And then I think you need to think about ways of representing interview data.
Have a look at Sight and Sound by Kate Oakwell. 【Q27】
AMINA: Sight and Sound.
BRYSON: Then you know I'm going away on holiday next week...
AMINA: Yes.
BRYSON: So when you've made the changes I suggest you show the work to your 【Q28】
Support Tutor.
AMINA: Support Tutor... right...
BRYSON: Then you do the proof reading... 【Q29】
AMINA: Proof reading.., uh-huh. When by, do you think?
BRYSON: I'd aim for 29 June and after that you should get it laser printed.., but be &nb

听力原文: Man: And now with today's consumer report, here's Consumer Affairs Editor Alice Dunn to tell us about the nutritional value of bread.
Woman: Thank you, Chris. You know, today—with so many Americans counting calories and wanting to eat more natural foods—there are many new kinds of bread on supermarket shelves, high fiber bread, wheat germ bread, low calorie bread, to name only a few. Well, despite the variety, the principal ingredients of bread have remained the same. flour, water, and yeast. There may be a few other things added as food for the yeast to help it develop or as agents to assist the baking process, but these additives appear in minute quantities and have little effect on calories or nutrition.
Man: Well, what about the differences between white bread and whole grain bread, Alice? Is whole grain bread really superior nutritionally?
Woman: Both have their advantages, Chris. Whole grain bread does have more fibers of course, and the bulk which the fiber provides can be useful in digestion. White bread has a finer texture. The reason that so many people feel white bread is nutritionally lacking is the bleaching process. Bleaching, which gives bread its distinctive white color, does remove many nutrients. But what many people are unaware of is that these nutrients are added back into the bread after the bleaching process. And this re-adding process has a distinct advantage for some people. One nutrient that is re-added, iron, is unbounded in white bread whereas the iron which is retained in its natural state in whole grain bread is bonded to other chemical constituents. Studies have shown that some people have difficulty absorbing the bonded iron but can readily absorb the unbounded iron in bleached white bread. Probably the soundest advice for most people is to eat some of both types of bread. And now here's a story which makes the good old days seem that much further in the past. Do you still remember the nickel candy bar that you used to buy on the way home from school when you were a child? Well, after successive increases to 10, 15, and 20 cents, the old nickel candy bar is now going to cost you a quarter. Candy manufacturers report that the bars will be larger. But, whereas the price is increasing 25%, the average weight increase for a bar is only 14%.
Man:Thank you, Alice. We'll have more news after we return from a commercial break.
19.According to the report, what are the three main ingredients found in bread?

22.What gives white bread its distinctive color?
(39)

听力原文:W: You read this? A couple that couldn't have a baby cloned the husband, and the wife is now in the family way!
M: Oh, you mean the wife is going to give birth to her husband?
W: Right. The child will be born in two months and the couple won't feel sad about having no children! How great!
M: But isn't that strange? How could the father face another self! You see, they'll look exactly the same! And if they had decided to clone the wife, she'd be giving birth to herself!
W: Well, isn't it charming to live your own life again? I think human cloning is beneficial in many ways, such as providing remedies for new incurable diseases, prolonging one's life, and so on.
M: That's very good, but what'll be the relationship between the parents and their cloned copy? What responsibilities should people take for their own clone? And what if the child falls in love with his own mother one day? As I see it, human cloning is unethical and must be prohibited!
W: Well, maybe human cloning still has a long way to go, or, maybe, the couple would be better of adopting a child.
Who has the couple cloned?
A.The wife.
B.The husband.
C.The baby.
D.A sheep.
